10 Quick Tips On Using Facebook For Your Business

Facebook is one of the most powerful tools available to business owners these days. It allows you to promote your business to millions of people, on a website most people visit daily.

If your business is just getting started with using Facebook as a marketing tool, or if you’re looking to improve your efforts, here are 10 quick tips to help you out.

  1. Use Great Images – When someone visits your Facebook page, you want to make a good impression. For this, you need to have some great images. Make sure you are using professional looking images for your header, and a well-designed logo for your profile picture.
  2. Add Keywords – If you’ve done keyword research for your website (and you should), use these same keywords on your Facebook page. Put them in the name of the page if possible, but also in the description. This will help your Facebook page to rank in search engines, and hopefully drive more traffic to your page and website.
  3. Promote Useful Content – You need to give people a reason to follow your Facebook page, and providing useful content is a great way to do that. Share some of your own blog posts your followers might find interesting, along with those from other sites. The more value you provide, larger following you’ll grow.
  4. Encourage User Engagement – The great thing about Facebook is that your customers – or potential customers – can interact with you. Post poll questions to get their opinions, or fun quizzes about your niche. Engaging users will help them to feel a part of your organization, and in turn improve customer relations.
  5. Engage Back With Followers – It’s important to not only get feedback from your followers, but to engage with them in return. If someone asks a question on your page, answer it in a timely fashion. Respond to compliment, address concerns, and generally be a part of the conversation.
  6. Be Descriptive – When filling out the information on your page, be as descriptive as you can. Really take some time to craft a well-written “About Us” page, and try to include the keywords mentioned in Tip #2. This Facebook page may be the first time someone is hearing of your company, and you want them to learn all they can before they leave.
  7. Add Links To Other Social Media – Facebook isn’t the only social media site out there, and a good business will be active on all of them. Include links to your Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts within your Facebook page. Then go to those accounts, and do the same on them. This will encourage visitors to follow you on multiple sites, and therefore less likely to miss an update from you.
  8. Link To Facebook On Your Website – If someone visits your website first, you want a way to reconnect with them down the line. Including a link to your Facebook page right on your website is a great way to do this.
  9. Don’t Feel Pressured To Spend Money Right Away – Facebook also allows you to place paid advertisements within their site, but you don’t have to do this right away. This might not fit into your budget, and it isn’t required for a successful Facebook marketing campaign. As you get better at using Facebook, and your marketing budget grows, you can return to this option to push your marketing reach even further.
  10. Always Be Professional – Finally, remember that your Facebook page is part of the face you are presenting to the world. You always want to remain professional on your page, from the content you post to the comments you write, to the customer interactions you have. Remember that everyone can see what you put on Facebook, so you want to present your business’s best self at all times.

Hopefully with these few tips you can get your Facebook marketing campaign off to a good start. There is a lot to know about Facebook, but you can get pretty far by just knowing the basics, and doing a few small things correctly.
